Summer Camps are 5 days, Mon - Fri. Camp is $330 per week, per camper. (Multiple weeks in the same season may be discounted.) (This price will include the Cook County trail rider's license.)
Some Holiday Break Camps may be 3 days long & are then $210 per week, per camper.
A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to reserve a spot as space is limited to 18 students each week.
Campers must have a Liability Release ( <-- click! ) signed by a parent or guardian before they are permitted to ride.
Ages: 7 - 15 years old Hours: 10am - 3pm (Early drop off / late pick up is available for an additional cost; advance notice is required)
Program: Camp is run by one of our Riding Instructors. The campers will be broken up into "groups" of 6 based on riding ability and age with each "group" led by an Instructor assistant. Each camper is assigned their "own horse" for the week. Along with one hour of daily riding instruction, our comprehensive program includes; safety around the barn, grooming, proper saddling and bridling, basic first aid, anatomy of the horse, breeds and colors, a horse-related craft, educational games and more! Campers will have the opportunity to try both English and Western styles of riding. Weather permitting, campers will also take a Trail Ride through the Forest Preserve. (Each child is required by Cook County to have a "rider's license". These are included in the cost of the camp & will be passed out before the trail ride. They are valid anywhere in Cook County until June 30th, 2018.)
What to Wear: Full length jeans are required; please no shorts or leggings. Dress according to the weather. No open-toed shoes or slip-on shoes. Sturdy boots with a low heel (cowboy boots, hiking boots etc.) are strongly recommended though gym shoes are acceptable.
Helmets: Riding helmets are required & are provided.
Lunch: Campers are asked to bring a lunch and a water bottle each day. We do have a drinking fountain and vending machines with water, pop, snacks and a microwave that campers can use.
Birthday Parties and Scout Troops
Indoor Party (ages 7+)
Held in our indoor arena, the cost is $40 per child for a 1/2 hour ride and 1/2 hour of learning to groom & saddle. Maximum of 8 people can ride at one time, larger groups will be divided up.
Trail Ride (ages 10+)
Riders will enjoy a one hour guided ride through the beautiful Cook County Forest Preserve trails. *Maximum of 8-10 people (depending on weights) can ride at one time, larger groups will be divided up. *2-4 riders is $40 per person / 5-14 riders is $35 per person / 15-25 riders is $32 per person / 26+ riders is $30 per person (Each rider is required to purchase a $5 Cook County Trail License which is valid until June 30th, 2018. The cost of the license is reflected in the prices above).
Party Room available for an additional hour (with either type of party) for cake etc. at no additional cost.
