Summer 2013 Camp Dates:

Summer, Spring & Winter Break Camps:
  • Summer Camps are 5 days, Mon - Fri.
    $300 per camper (a 2nd week in the same year is $50 off)
  • Holiday Break Camps are 3 days long & $180
  • Full payment is due the morning of the first day of camp. A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required to reserve a spot as space is limited to 18 students.
  • The campers will take trail ride through the Forest Preserve. Each child is required by Cook County to buy a "rider's license" for $3. They can be purchased at Fitzjoy are valid through June 30, 2013.
  • Campers must have a Liability Release ( <-- click! ) signed by a parent or guardian.

Ages: 7 - 15 years old

Hours: 10am - 3pm

advance notice required)

Program:
Camp is run by one of our Riding Instructors. The campers will be broken up into "groups" of 6 based on riding ability & age with each "group" led by an Instructor assistant. Each camper is assigned their "own horse" for the week. Along with one hour of daily riding instruction, our comprehensive program includes; safety around the barn, grooming, proper saddling & bridling, basic first aid, anatomy of the horse, breeds & colors, a horse-related craft, educational games & more! Campers will have the opportunity to try both English and Western styles of riding & also take a Trail ride through the Forest Preserve.

What to Wear:
Full length jeans are required, no shorts or leggings. Please dress according to the weather. No open-toed shoes or slip-on shoes. Sturdy boots with a low heel is strongly recommended (hiking boots etc.) though sneakers are acceptable.

Helmets:
Helmets are required & are provided.

Lunch:
Campers are asked to bring a lunch & a water bottle each day. We do have a drinking fountain & vending machines water, pop & snacks. We also have a microwave campers can use.

Birthday Parties and Scout Troops

  • Indoor Party (ages 7+)
    • Held in our indoor arena, the cost is $40 per child for an hour ride OR $40 per child for a 1/2 hour ride & 1/2 hour of learning to groom & saddle. Maximum of 8 people can ride at one time, larger groups will be divided up.
  • Trail Ride (ages 10+)
    • Riders will enjoy a one hour guided trail ride through the Cook County Forest Preserve.
      Maximum of 8 people can ride at one time, larger groups will be divided up.
      2-4 riders is $38 per person / 5-14 riders is $33 per person / 15-25 riders is $30 per person / 26+ riders is $28 per person
  • Party Room available for an additional hour (with either type of party) for cake etc. at no additional cost.
  • All riders MUST have a liability release signed by their parent / guardian or they will not be allowed to participate.

Patti's Pony Parties

  • For children under 7, ponies are available either at our facility or a location of your choice. We typically recommend 1 pony per 10 children. There are no age restrictions on the ponies, but our largest pony can carry a maximum of 100lbs.
