Summer, Spring & Winter Break Camps:
Summer Camps are 5 days, Mon - Fri. *As of Jan. 2015 - Camp is now $325 per week, per camper. (Multiple weeks in the same season may be discounted.)
Holiday Break Camps may be 3 days long & are $200 per week, per camper.
Full payment is due the morning of the first day of camp. A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to reserve a spot as space is limited to 18 students each week.
Weather permitting, campers will take trail ride through the Forest Preserve. Each child is required by Cook County to buy a "rider's license" for $4. They can be purchased from the office at Fitzjoy & are valid through June 30, 2016.
Hours: 10am - 3pm (Early drop off / late pick up is available for an additional cost; advance notice required)
Program: Camp is run by one of our Riding Instructors. The campers will be broken up into "groups" of 6 based on riding ability and age with each "group" led by an Instructor assistant. Each camper is assigned their "own horse" for the week. Along with one hour of daily riding instruction, our comprehensive program includes; safety around the barn, grooming, proper saddling and bridling, basic first aid, anatomy of the horse, breeds and colors, a horse-related craft, educational games and more! Campers will have the opportunity to try both English and Western styles of riding and also take a Trail Ride through the Forest Preserve.
What to Wear: Full length jeans are required, no shorts or leggings. Please dress according to the weather. No open toed shoes or slip on shoes. Sturdy boots with a low heel (such as hiking boots) are strongly recommended though sneakers are acceptable.
Helmets: Riding helmets are required and are provided.
Lunch: Campers are asked to bring a lunch and a water bottle each day. We do have a drinking fountain and vending machines with water, pop, snacks and a microwave that campers can use.
Birthday Parties and Scout Troops
Indoor Party (ages 7+)
Held in our indoor arena, the cost is $40 per child for a 1/2 hour ride and 1/2 hour of learning to groom and saddle. Maximum of 8 people can ride at one time, larger groups will be divided up.
Trail Ride (ages 10+)
Riders will enjoy a one hour guided trail ride through the Cook County Forest Preserve. Maximum of 8-10 people (depending on weights) can ride at one time, larger groups will be divided up. 2-4 riders is $38 per person / 5-14 riders is $33 per person / 15-25 riders is $30 per person / 26+ riders is $28 per person
Party Room available for an additional hour (with either type of party) for cake etc. at no additional cost.
For children under 7, ponies are available at our facility. We typically recommend 1 pony per 10 children. There are no age restrictions on the ponies, but our largest pony can carry a maximum of 100lbs.
